Repent

Repent
There's a lot of confusion about what it means to repent. It doesn't just mean to be sorry or to say you're sorry. Repent means to turn away from sin, to change your thinking.

It is not crying when you're caught, or being fearful of the consequences of your sin.

It doesn't mean to remain in a state of shame. Shame's purpose is to lead you to repentance. Once you have repented and confessed your sin to God, by the Blood of Jesus Christ, you've been set free from it and washed clean. You are now in a right relationship with the LORD.

If you've sinned so much that you've seared your heart to such a degree that you no longer have any remorse or desire to repent, pray and ask God to convict your heart, to heal your hardened heart, so that you can truly repent and live the life He has designed you for.

2 Corinthians 7:9 reads, As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us.

Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord... -Acts 3:19-20

Lord we pray that when we fall to sin, that our hearts will be convicted with a godly grief that leads us to repentance. We thank you that when we repent and confess our sins, You are faithful to forgive us by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
