Male and Female

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. -Genesis 1:27

Men and women were created by God with unique qualities and purposes. We are made in the image and likeness of God Almighty. There is no question about this.

At least, there shouldn't be! No amount of imagination, fantasy, wishes, clothing, makeup, or laws will ever change this basic fact. What could be more beautiful or amazing than to be created in the image and likeness of God?! We are not edifying or loving others by entertaining anything contrary to the most basic facts of human biology. In fact, we are causing great distress and harm in encouraging others to live contrary to reality.

At Trini-T Ministries, we love everyone. Part of loving someone is guiding them in the truth and that is the intent here. God's Word reminds us to hold on to the truth while loving others. We are to do all things in love. As we read in 1 Corinthians 16:14 – Do everything in love. And do everything with love. Let all that you do be done in love. Let all your things be done with charity.

Let us hold on to the truth, and speak the truth in love. Accepting bad for good is not love. Romans 12:9 reminds us, "Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good."

Feelings are real, but they are not reality. Understanding this is huge, especially today, when everything seems to be based on feelings, or following our heart. The Bible warns us in many places of the dangers of trusting your own heart on a matter. In Jeremiah 17:9-10 we read, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick…” Proverbs 28:26 tells us that if we trust in our own hear we are fools. The way of the fool is right in his own eyes.  – Proverbs 12:15 These scriptures demonstrate that our feelings are not the truth and our heart does not lead us to the truth. Have compassion on those who feel contrary to their creation.

During some point in discussing sin or trying to help lead someone out of sinful behavior, you will often hear people quote Matthew 7:1-2, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged.” It’s a quick way to deflect any perceived criticism. Jesus wasn’t telling us to not judge, but to be careful in our attitude of judging others. We were all guilty of sin. We are made righteous by faith through the blood of Christ.

Let the LORD be our example. God hates evil, pride, arrogance and perversion. (Proverbs 8:13) But God is forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to Him. (Psalm 86:5) God shows us in scripture how we are to show His love to those who sin against Him- knowingly or unknowingly. "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted." -Galatians 6:1 And He makes it clear why we ought to speak the truth in love - "...to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those sanctified by faith in me.'" -Acts 26:18

It is love to share the truth. Truth is not subjective, something that bends to the will or imagination. Truth, by its very nature is objective. Be bold and stand for the truth. Share the truth in love and gentleness. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15)
