It can be painful when our peers reject us, mock us, or exclude us. Its not easy when it seems we don’t belong, when we just don’t fit in.
There is a danger that in our exclusion and rejection we become angry, bitter, or depressed. Worse still would be to remake ourselves in the image of others just to fit in.
It's true, that we could all use a bit of reflecting and make some changes, but the only one we ought to imitate, the only one who’s image we should reflect is Jesus! We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. – Ephesians 2:10
We aren’t created to be like the world. We are created to be like the one who created the world!
Don’t be surprised or upset when we are rejected or despised by the world, if the world hates us, remember that it hated Jesus first (John 3:13, 5:18).
