Bible Bites - Walk By Faith

For we walk by faith, not by sight. -2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith is such an integral part of our walk with our Heavenly Father! We know that without faith it is impossible to please him. Without faith, it is impossible to be called righteous. Without faith, we have no hope and we have no salvation!

But what do you do if you find yourself struggling to have faith or if you recognize that you've put your faith in the wrong places such as people, money, or power?

God has not been mysterious in this. He has given us His Word and Holy Spirit to be our advocate and teach us all things, bringing the Word of God to our memory (John 14:26).

Faith comes by hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. -Romans 10:17 The more we read His Word with an open manner to learn and know, the more our faith will be built up. The more we will understand, and the stronger and closer we'll be with our Father.

Literally, all the mysteries of life are right there in His Word. Faith is not ignorant, and it is not blind! All throughout the Bible, we see how God has shown Himself to be true, just, faithful, holy, mighty, and fierce, and loving!

Reading our Bibles also enables us to recognize the voice of our Father. Reading the Bible will build our faith and faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. It will help us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts, to not lean on our own understanding. It will help us to acknowledge God in all our ways and trust Him to make our paths straight.

In fact, the Bible has a whole chapter dedicated to faith! We are encouraged to read Hebrews 11. In Hebrews 11 we are encouraged to go deeper and read through the Bible and see how faithful our God is and how men and women of faith trusted God, even though the darkest of situations.

Our faith in our Father is never in vain. Isaiah 40:8 boldly proclaims, "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever."

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Walk by faith.

Let's Pray:

Father, we thank you for the wonderful gift of faith! Help us to spend good, quality time with you in your word, studying, meditating, resting, and listening to your voice. We pray that you help us to not lean on our own understanding, but in all things putting all of our faith, trust, and hope in you, and surrendering completely to you, that in us your Kingdom come and your will be done as it is in heaven! In Jesus' mighty name we pray. Amen!
